STEM SDV Information Literacy 101: Research, Reliability, and Responsible Citation In-Person

This live, virtual workshop introduces students to the core concepts of information literacy in an academic setting. Participants will learn how to approach academic research, identify reliable sources, understand the importance of citation, and recognize what constitutes plagiarism. By the end of the session, students will be equipped with essential skills to evaluate information critically and use it ethically in their academic work. This workshop will also briefly touch on AI and responsible usage.

This is a workshop designed for students who are new to academic writing and research. It addresses things such as why you can't cite an abstract, what an academic source is, and the difference between paraphrasing and plagiarizing.
